Kingdom Gate Entertainment was founded in 1997 by Tafari A. Walston and John Edwards. We as teenagers noticed the huge void in Hip Hop and the music and film business. The void was truth, Gods truth. Kanye said it best. “You can rap about anything except for Jesus that means, guns, sex, lies,and video tapes,but if I talk about GOD my music won’t get played huh”?(Jesus Walks).
This point is clearly seen in the music and entertainment industry.The Gate was taking from John 10:9 (niv) “Verily Verily I say to I’am the gate of the sheep. Who ever enter through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture”. We feel responsible here at Kingdom Gate Entertainment to show the gospel in such a real way that anyone would be able to see the light and life of the gospel of the kingdom and believe.
Later in the early 2000′s Tafari Walston and Anthony Lopez (aka Jaleel Mohamed) would incorporate Kingdom Gate Entertainment a multimedia company with focus on music recording, with the aspiration of film and television production, a fully ran in-house independent multimedia entertainment company thus creating the KGE brand.
